Kyrgyzstan lost about $6 bln through its shadow economy during independence years – Sarpashev

Bishkek. March 27. KyrTAG – Albina Meterova. Kyrgyzstan lost about $6 bln through its shadow economy during independence years. First vice-prime-minister Tayirbek Sarpashev said in a government’s session Friday.  

″Untill 2014 country’s budget did not receive from $2.5 bln to 46 bln (through its shadow economy - KyrTAG). Getting economy out of shadow is the main task of the government, set for 2015″, - said Sarpashev.

According to him, the volume of shadow economy in 2014 reached 48% to GDP, turnover totaled 143.6 bln soms, thus last year the budget could not get enough 57.3 bln soms over the shadow economy. He noted that these funds would be enough to pay for country’s $3,08 bln debts.
