Apricot harvest may dwindle by 70% over severe cold in Batken oblast

Bishkek. March 31. KyrTAG – Begayim Sadykova. A lot of snow, which fell in Batken oblast may reduce apricot yield by 70%. Raimberdi Sydykov, local resident, told KyrTAG Tuesday.
″My family lives by selling apricot, because we have an apricot garden. Apricot blossomed for 70-80 percent 2-3 days ago. Over the fallen snow harvest may dwindle a lot″, - said R.Sydykov.
On average, Batken residents sell apricot worth 7 bln soms.
According to Osh’s metereology agency temperature in Osh, Zhalal-Abad and Batken oblasts reached -8 degrees on March 30.
