Cholpon-Ata hosted opening ceremony of I World Nomad Games

A grandiose show on hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata hosted over seven thousand spectators. According to organizers’ idea, the opening ceremony on 9 September in Cholpon-Ata had been held in 3D format. Similar event has not ever been held by Kyrgyzstan in terms of its scale. Foreign experts were attracted in designing the project.

The opening ceremony consisted of 14 actions, each of them demonstrated the history of nomads, from rise and dawn of nomads’ civilization until now. Each action had been accompanied by musical composition, videoseries and mass theatrical performances.

Kyrgyzstan is the first to hold World Nomad Games in its land, since it is a unique ethno-sports and tourist-oriented project initiated by the president of Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Atambaev and further propped up by Turkish Council.

World Nomad Games are participated by over 350 sportsmen, and 250 of them are foreigners.

The Games will be held in 9 kinds of sports and will last until 14 September. Besides sports events the guests will also enjoy ethno-cultural performances. Entry is free.
