Ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kurmanbek Bakiyev in His Absence Was Sentenced to 24 Years of Imprisonment, His Brother Janysh Was Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

Military Court of Bishkek Declared its decision with respect to Kurmanbek and Janysh Bakiyevs, press-service of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on Tuesday.

Kurmanbek Bakiyev was found guilty on various crimes, provided in the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic with complete deprivation of property. Pursuant to Article 59 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic the ex-president was sentenced to  24 (twenty four) years of imprisonment in colony with reinforced regime.

Janysh Bakiyev was found guilty on various crimes provided in the  Criminal Code, combining all lengths of punishments, according to each article, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, with complete deprivation of property.

According to Article 51 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, former head of the State Security Janysh Bakiyev was deprived from his military rank «General-lieutenant».

As we informed earlier, Kurmanbek and Janysh Bakievs are declared wanted.
